Podcast: Justice Is Served

Download: july-15-2013.mp3

I have a new podcast, with some big news.  You can click above to listen.  If you want to listen later, click here to download the mp3 file.  As always, follow me on Twitter at @jeffscottshow and find me on Facebook at Jeff Scott Show.

Following the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the death of Trayvon Martin, the race pimps are working overtime trying to gin up racial tensions.  Al Sharpton is planning marches in 100 cities (on top of the protests that have already occurred), and Melissa Harris-Perry is playing the victim card.  Of course, they both work for NBC, which is being sued by Zimmerman for defamation.  Given the facts of the case, charges never should have been brought to begin with.  Of course, don’t let facts get in the way, because Trayvon only had Skittles on him.  Apparently Skittles makes somebody innocent?  Of course, as we know, Martin was no saint, but was a thug who instigated the confrontation.  The new line from the left is that Trayvon never would have died had Zimmerman not had a gun (but don’t bother asking whether Zimmerman would have died).  Another media myth is that this case was about Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which it was not.  On a related note, why is Joshua Chellew less important than Trayvon Martin?

After the Zimmerman-Martin issue, here’s a palate cleanser.  This is a wonderful story.

The federal government is now allowed to broadcast propaganda for a domestic audience.  Compared with NPR, PBS, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, etc., how can we tell the difference?

The culture of dependence:  101 million Americans get food aid from the federal government, which is more than the number of full-time private sector workers.

A pranked TV station in San Francisco reported the names of the pilots of the crashed Asiana flight 214 as “Captain Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” “Ho Lee Fuk,” and “Bang Ding Ow.”  Apparently they got the information from a rogue NTSB intern.  Asiana Airlines will sue the TV station.

A new study indicates that ObamaCare will reduce employment, but the surprise (to some) is that people will stop looking for a job when they don’t have to earn their own insurance.  Sen. Ted Cruz has introduced legislation to defund ObamaCare, which is a good start, but probably won’t happen until at least 2015.

The DC City Government is trying to chase Wal-Mart out of town by forcing them to pay $12.50 per hour for all of their employees.

Rep. Steve King points out that there’s no reason to pass a border security bill when the President won’t enforce it anyway.

Robots are now being used to revolutionize farming.  Prepare for our robot overlords.

The corporatist wing of the Republican Party passed a bill of farm subsidies without food stamps.

It turns out that when people have less trust for government, government grows.

A Tennessee man is suing Apple Computers for giving him unrestricted access to porn.

A man at a major league baseball game caught four foul balls in one game.

Major League Baseball really needs to decide what the All Star Game is about.

Twinkies are back, but they’re smaller than they used to be.

A bill has been introduced to create a National Park on the moon.  If we had just colonized it like we should have in 1969, that wouldn’t be an issue.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s replacement on “The View” will be anti-vaccine nutjob Jenny McCarthy.

People are flocking to the U.S. Botanical Gardens in DC to smell a “corpse flower.”  How will they be able to tell the difference between the flower and the tourists?

This Week’s Sign of the Downfall of Western Civilization:  Sharknado.

This week’s Schadenfreude of the Week:  Labor union leaders are concerned that their members may be hurt by ObamaCare, and we have another story of colleges cutting hours for professors due to ObamaCare.  You guys wanted it; you can deal with the consequences.
